About zalgo & glitch marks
A combining mark has no width and no life of its own: it attaches to the character before it and rides along. One or two are ordinary writing — accents, tones, phonetic detail. Dozens stacked on a single letter are Zalgo text, the glitch aesthetic that leaks above and below the line.
The marks above are grouped by block, roughly by where they sit: most stack above the base letter, some below, some through it, and the enclosing marks wrap it. Order matters — a renderer applies the stack in sequence — and so does the host: many apps now trim or flatten extreme stacks, which is why the same text can look tame in one place and feral in another.
