About paragraph & section marks
Two legal-and-editorial workhorses live here: the section sign (§), doubled as §§ for 'sections', and the pilcrow (¶), the paragraph mark, whose name is a worn-down corruption of the word 'paragraph' itself.
Both marks exist so a text can point at its own parts — 'see §4' cites a section without spelling the word. The reversed pilcrow (⁋) is the same mark mirrored, used in some editorial traditions for the same job.
